This helps us tailor the removal method to keep your cane in perfect condition.
Wood cane detected. Submerge only the rubber tip — never the wooden shaft. Boiling water may damage the finish or loosen the ferrule.
Step 2 of 4 · Heat Method
Soften the rubber with hot water
Heat expands rubber, releasing its grip. Submerge only the tip, then start the 40-second timer.
Pour into a mug deep enough to cover the rubber tip.
Submerge only the tip, then press Start below.
Submerge the tip, then start the timer.
Time's up! Remove the cane from the water and continue.
Step 3 of 4 · Removal
Twist, rock, and pull
Work quickly — rubber stays pliable for about 60 seconds after leaving the water.
Use a dry towel or rubber gloves for grip and to protect your hands from heat.
Wrap a dry cloth firmly around the rubber tip.
Apply a side-to-side rocking motion — left, right, left, right.
While rocking, pull steadily downward until the tip slides free.
Still stuck? Repeat the heat step — never force it.
