Walking Cane Shipping: What to Know About Free Worldwide Delivery and Lead Times

DaiWalk ships to all countries served by international courier networks — currently over 180 countries. Shipping is free on all orders, worldwide. No threshold. The free shipping model is structural to the DaiWalk pricing rather than promotional — the product margin accounts for shipping as a cost of sale rather than a line item passed to the buyer.

Why Free Worldwide Shipping

Walking cane buyers are not geographically concentrated. Demand is distributed across every market where ambulatory care is part of healthcare practice — which includes every developed market and an increasing share of developing markets. Building a shipping-cost variable into the buyer's decision introduces friction that has no benefit to the buyer and no material benefit to DaiWalk beyond the pass-through of an actual cost.

The structural approach: ship cost is built into the product price. Every buyer pays the same product price regardless of location. A buyer in Melbourne and a buyer in Oslo pay the same amount and receive the same product on comparable timelines.

Lead Time: Made-to-Order Means Actual Production Time

DaiWalk canes are produced to order — there is no warehouse of finished inventory waiting to ship. Each order enters production when it is confirmed. Production time for a standard configuration (handle selection, wood species, tip type, shaft setting): one business day. The cane ships the next business day after the order is placed.

This means the lead time on a DaiWalk order is production time plus transit time — not warehouse pick-and-pack plus transit. The difference in practice is minimal (one extra day), but the reason is fundamentally different from a stock-based retailer.

Transit Times by Region

Region Typical Transit Notes
United States 5–8 business days Courier-dependent; tracked
United Kingdom 4–7 business days Tracked; customs cleared included
European Union 4–7 business days DAP terms; local import duties may apply
Germany / Austria / Switzerland 4–6 business days Reliable courier network; low delay rate
Italy / France / Spain 5–8 business days Typical EU transit
Australia / New Zealand 7–12 business days Distance; customs processing adds 1–2 days
Canada 6–10 business days Customs clearance adds variability
Rest of world 8–14 business days Varies by destination; all shipments tracked

Tracking

All DaiWalk shipments include a tracking number issued at dispatch. Tracking updates via the courier's own system — the tracking link is provided by email when the order ships.

For orders where the tracking shows no update for more than 3 business days after dispatch (rare, typically customs-related), contact DaiWalk directly through the product page. Do not wait past 5 business days of no movement to raise a query.

Customs and Import Duties

DaiWalk ships on DAP (Delivered at Place) terms — the product arrives at the buyer's address and any applicable local import duties are assessed by the destination country's customs authority. For most buyers in most markets, walking canes are zero-rated or very low tariff items. EU buyers may be subject to VAT on import from non-EU origin.

For buyers in the UK: post-Brexit, orders above the £135 UK import threshold are subject to UK import VAT. DaiWalk orders typically fall below this threshold for single-cane orders; multi-item orders may exceed it.

Lost or Damaged Shipments

All shipments are insured. If a shipment arrives damaged or is confirmed lost by the courier, DaiWalk replaces the order at no charge. Photograph damaged packaging and contents before discarding — this documents the damage claim with the courier.

Order from the DaiWalk walking cane collection. For accessory orders including the leather lanyard, shipping terms are identical.
